PROGRAM DESIGN/IMPLEMENTATION

We service clients in clinics, social services agencies, doctors’s offices, educational institutions, and public health facilities, and other community settings. Our approach to youth engagement could is evidence-based and could well an extension of cognitive behavioral therapy. We use music and media that is culturally relevant to prompt dialogue and discussions, discoveries, discernment, and decision-making. We assess the attitudes, beliefs, behaviors, and choices that either align with health, hope, and healing or don’t. Since knowledge alone does not result in sustained behavioral change in the short or long term, we know how motivation and a myriad of many other social factors may serve as moderators. We are certified and licensed practitioners and practice-based researchers, clinicians, social workers, teachers, artists and entrepreneurs.

EVENT Curation

Our relationships with artists, authors, and scholars allows us to integrate music, media, and scholarship to inform, inspire and empower, highlighting the transformative power of the arts. Events include lectures, performances, performance lectures, and other arts-infused forums that illustrate the power and potential of using music and media to trigger the imagination and self-reflection. All events incorporate aspects of culture, history, and lifestyle as we aim to create experiences that not only inspire, but also prompt critical thinking and reflection, embodying a range of “expressions” oriented toward health, hope, and healing, especially for those most vulnerable among us.

CONSULTING/Professional Development/Research

Our consulting and technical assistance services are tailored to our events, products and programs. For example, we offer professional development for clinicians, educators and youth-serving practitioners. Our applied research seeks to answer key questions that may solve practical problems. Knowledge acquired from applied research is used to customize and further refine our products and services. Our custom solutions measurably improve academic, behavioral, emotional, moral, and social competencies, skills, and abilities. Our mixed methods, action research includes primary data collection, analyses, and frequently includes dissemination at national and international conferences, meetings, and other events on behalf of our clients.

Our software products are designed to integrate key elements of history, culture and lifestyle. Research indicates that incorporating these elements gives clinicians, educators, and practitioners the tools to engage young people in a way that is culturally-relevant, culturally-affirming, culturally-familiar, and developmentally responsive to their needs, incorporating select features of music and media to enhance this multi-sensory experience. This approach to teaching, enrichment, and therapy leads to measurable and observable shifts in five key areas of competence. We give those trained the tools to deliver youth and family-friendly services.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH THERAPY

Comprehensive mental/behavioral health services are most effective when provided through a multitiered system of supports (MTSS). MTSS encompasses the continuum of need, enabling school personnel and those who support young people in clinical and community settings to address their academic, social, and emotional needs. Behavioral indicators enable trained providers to diagnose and treat common disorders, based on common behavioral indicators. Educators, clinicians, and youth-serving practitioners receive training in the use of our software and evidence-based approaches to target specific skills in five categories. Integrating music and media facilitates engaged teaching, learning, and therapy by incorporating select elements of history, culture, and lifestyle to see the origins of dis-ease more clearly.

engagement, TRAINING, & OUTREACH

We offer training and custom learning experiences that include information and feedback sessions, interactive workshops, health fairs, and other community-oriented forums. These events incorporate the arts and are crafted based on the target audience. Our goal is to work with clients to curate audiences that will benefit from a broader and deeper understanding of the transformative benefits of music and media for instructional, therapeutic, and creative purposes. We incorporate best practices to attract diverse audiences, whether in a business, community, or family-oriented setting. We also offer internship opportunities for those interested in our unique approach.
